Research Prize Nominations now open

The TaPRA New Career Research in Theatre/Performance Prize:

Nominations are invited for the TaPRA New Career Research Prize. The prize will be  awarded to a researcher who falls within the AHRC definition of an early career researcher (8 years of being awarded a PhD OR 6 years of their first full time contract in a teaching /research post), for a piece of research (including practice-based/applied work). The research must have had an appropriate form and level of circulation/dissemination to qualify, and must have been published or launched within 24 months of the nomination date. Research which has already secured funding (in any shape or form) is eligible as long as it falls within the 24 month limit.

The Prize will consist of a free conference place (membership fee, conference dinner and accommodation excluded) and a cheque for £200.

Nominations can be made by any TaPRA member and must be supported by TWO other members of the organisation. There is no restriction on the number of nominations, members may propose as many pieces as they wish as long as they are appropriately supported.  Nominations should be submitted to Research Development Officer Kate Dorney (k.dorney@vam.ac.uk)  by 31 May 2013.

 

The David Bradby TaPRA Award for Research in International Theatre and Performance:

Nominations are invited to celebrate outstanding research (including practice-based/applied research) in any area of the discipline. The research will have to have had an appropriate form and level of circulation/dissemination to qualify, and must have been published or launched within 24 months of the nomination date. Research which has already secured funding (in any shape or form) is eligible as long as it is within the 24 month limit.

Judges and Timetable

The prizes will be judged by a panel including Susan Bennett, the inaugural David Bradby TaPRA Award Winner Heike Roms, the chair of TaPRA and the Research Development Officer.

Award Competitions announced 28 March 2013

Deadline 31 May 2013

Prizewinners announced: end of June 2013.

The prizes will be awarded at the conference in September and the Bradby prize winner will be invited to give a presentation on their award-winning research at the next TaPRA annual conference.
