A conference is a political act – conferencing is a political practice
A conference is a creative act – conferencing is a un/learning practice
A conference is a statement of community. Its form and content shape a political identity and, by extension, an academic one.
We will build coalitional and collaborative politics in and for dance, performance and theatre studies – we want to disturb the stability of singular authorities.
We will practice anti-exclusion, anti-oppression, care, and (radical) hope.
We are committed to increasing the visibility and participation of Black and Global Majority scholars in different career stages.
We will practice border-thinking and intersectionality to decentre scholarly practices and to amplify underrepresented voices.
We intend to open the TaPRA community to international voices and global concerns.
TaPRA conferences will be opportunities to practice intellectual vulnerability. We will honour our obligation to learn from one another, especially through intergenerational sharing and exchange.
