The TaPRA Edited Collection Prize

This prize is for an edited collection (a book of essays or a special issue of a journal) that defines new approaches in research in theatre, dance and performance studies, opening up new areas of work and new lines of enquiry.

*NOMINATIONS ARE NOW OPEN FOR 2023–2024.*

The deadline for submission is midnight UK time on Monday 5 February 2024.

Criteria

  • Originality – What new perspectives/material/insights are presented through the collection? Is there originality in the format as well as the content?
  • Significance – Is the concept and purpose of the collection clear and articulated appropriately throughout? How convincingly does the collection define new themes or directions for research in theatre and performance? Is the collection timely and necessary to the field?
  • Curation – What is the effectiveness of the selection and contextualisation of chapters and articles within the collection? Is there a diversity of voices (including marginalised and global perspectives, and authors from different career stages)? How does the work make a virtue of being a collection?
  • TaPRA core values  – How does the work align with values outlined in the TaPRA manifesto?
