Theatre and Performance Histories

The Theatre and Performance Histories working group explores theatre and performance from the distant past to the present day. Fundamental to the working group is our commitment to elevating lost, erased, and recovered histories in order to challenge or revise established narratives. We are interested in approaches to researching and disseminating theatre and performance histories and the ways in which evidence, documentation, interpretation, theory, and speculation open up provocative questions for our discipline as a whole. We welcome new and experienced scholars, as well as artists, practitioners, and curators, from both within and beyond the UK, to participate in the annual TaPRA conference and to attend the other events that our working group hosts each year.
